The overall aim of the LIFE ADAPT2CLIMA project is to increase knowledge on the vulnerability of EU Mediterranean agriculture to climate change and to support decision making for adaptation planning. The aim of the ADAPT2CLIMA Decision Support tool is to enhance understanding of climate change and its impacts on agriculture in order to support farmers, policy makers and other relevant stakeholders (agronomists, agribusiness industry, etc.) in adaptation planning.
According to the European Environment Agency (EEA)'s recent Climate change adaptation in the agriculture sector in Europe report (2019), crop and livestock production is projected to decrease and may even have to be abandoned in parts of Europe’s southern and Mediterranean regions due to climate change.
The overall aim of the LIFE ADAPT2CLIMA project is to increase knowledge on the estimated climate change impacts to the agricultural sectors of Sicily, Cyprus and Crete. The methodology for the assessment of impacts is based on the deployment of a set of climate, hydrological and crop simulation models.

Significant climate change impacts are already visible globally, and are expected to become more pronounced in the future.
